Evaluator
The Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL) has provided evaluation services for the Hawai‘i Parental Information and Resource Center (HPIRC) since 2000. These efforts have included both formative and summative evaluation. Over the years, the logic of the coherence model has been sharpened. The relationship between HPIRC’s goals and objectives and the activities used to achieve these has been discussed and is now better understood than it was initially. Similarly, attention has been devoted to determining the best ways to measure the effects of program activities. Possibly the most significant outcome of the long-standing development of HPIRC’s evaluation model has been a growing appreciation for the important of measurable outcomes and the difficulty of attaining these.
