Education Transition Programs
Kindergarten KAMP
KAMP stands for, "Kindergartners Are Most Precious!" KAMP is a half-day kindergarten orientation for children and parents alike. This program allows parents and children to make the transition into kindergarten smoother, by introducing them to teachers, classrooms, peers, fellow parents, and school routines. The underlying theme of Kindergarten Kamp is that although school has begun, parents are a child's first and most important teachers.
Kindergarten "Keiki" (Children's Fair)
HPIRC collaborates with and provides families of English as a 2nd Language as well as students in low income families an opportunity to get enrolled and become familiar with the school staff, kindergarten classrooms, the school grounds, receive free school supplies, and register for school. The theme, though, is a fun and educational experience for the whole family with an emphasis on engaging families and get their students pre-registered for school.
